Levels of EV chargers

California has set a goal to have 5 million zero-emission vehicles on the road by 2030, and the Bay Area is a critical part of this effort. As EV adoption continues to grow, having a reliable and efficient charging station is essential for EV owners. That’s why we offer three levels of charging options: Level 1 at 120 volts, Level 2 at 240 volts, and Level 3 for commercial/industrial use at 480 volts.

Level 1 charging is the most basic and requires a standard 120-volt outlet. It is the slowest type of charging, providing an average of 2 to 5 miles of range per hour of charging. Level 1 charging is suitable for those who do not drive long distances or have access to public charging stations.

Level 2 charging is the most common type of charging for residential clients in the Bay Area. It requires a 240-volt outlet and provides an average of 10 to 20 miles of range per hour of charging, making it much faster than Level 1. Level 2 charging is ideal for those who drive longer distances or have multiple EVs in the household.

Level 3 charging, also known as DC Fast Charging, is designed for commercial and industrial use. It requires a 480-volt outlet and provides an average of 60 to 80 miles of range per 20 minutes of charging. Level 3 charging is the fastest and most expensive type of charging, but it is essential for businesses with a high volume of EV traffic.
